We’re kiln-drying our wood chips, grilling woods, and planks to the perfect moisture levels for peak smoke and flavor and optimal burn times no matter if your menu calls for hot ‘n fast or low ‘n slow.

GRILLEMENTALS™ Premium Cooking Wood Chips

One of advantages of wood chips is they’re so easy to combine different woods to experiment and create your own flavor combinations. ALWAYS keep the lid closed as much as possible when grilling. It reduces the oxygen content in your grill which increases smoke – and flavor – production. Smoker boxes or foil pouches work great with wood chips.

Tips and Tricks

  • Perfect for fast-cooking meals like burgers or hot dogs or chicken wings
  • 2 – 3 handfuls on direct heat will usually last about half an hour
  • Use wet or dry, feel free to experiment
  • Try different mixtures of different chips to find the flavors you love

Our larger, smoking chunks offer more versatility than chips. You can use them for fire fuel or just flavoring. Chunks also have longer burn times, meaning you don’t have to reload as often, which keeps all that rich smoke infusing your meal with flavor. They’re also perfect for low n’ slow cooking methods like smoking.

GRILLEMENTALS™ Premium Cooking Wood Planks

Cooking with wood planks is a method favored by many professional chefs and has gotten very popular of late for good reason – simplicity. Soak the plank, food on the plank, plank on the fire. That’s it. Your fire’s heat cooks indirectly through the plank, infusing your meal with the smoky flavors of the wood. The plank keeps any food from falling into the fire which can be a problem with delicate choices like fish. Planking also allows for another layer of creativity with your choice of soaking liquids – favorites include sake, wine, fruit juice or cider, citrus and herbs.

Tips and Tricks

  • Unlike chips and chunks, planks must be soaked for at least one hour before using (longer is better)
  • Not just for fish or seafood! Try all types of meats, vegetables, fruits and yes, cheese.
  • Keep a spray bottle handy for any flames or flare-ups (you can use your soaking liquid here for more flavor)
  • Planks can be cleaned, frozen, and reused. Their remnants can be used for grilling like chips or chunks
